I am Krystle Moore, a Caledon, Ontario artist working in oils and watercolours. My work focuses on local landscapes (primarily fields) and still life paintings (mostly florals), so the name of my creative practice is Fields and Flowers Art.
I am inspired by the local landscapes around me in the small towns of this region. I love painting both moody and hopeful skies, and often stop on the side of the road to take reference photos for painting. I am also inspired by the beauty of everyday life; something I am very grateful for after my health challenges; I hope my work reflects this deep gratitude.
My background is in the arts: I have a BA in Visual Arts (York University, 2004) and a Master’s in Art History, (Western University, 2008.) I worked for some time in the curatorial department of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, which influenced my artistic practice in some ways.
I recently started painting again after a lengthy hiatus due to health reasons, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to paint again. I am so happy to return to my passion, and to trust my instinct and my natural eye with painting.
It is truly a privilege to paint work for your home or personal space. The life that a painting can bring to a room is so needed, especially during these times. I have such deep respect for the arts in general, and for the comfort, intimacy, and beauty that a painting can bring to a living space.
Thanks so much for supporting emerging and local artists, and I appreciate any questions or inquiries at all, so please don't hesitate to send me a message.
