Serene summer landscape- “A Year”- Oil on maple panel (12x24”)

A calming and serene landscape painting with lots of blue clouds in the sky, and a patch of bright light on one side above the dark blues and greens in the hills. This landscape is created from a combination of reference photos I took during a beautiful sunset in late August. There are smooth, blended brushstrokes in the sky, and textured, layered brushstrokes in the ground of the field. Painted on a maple wood panel, with a bare light wood edge. The gallery-depth wood edge is unpainted since the wood panel is so beautiful, and it gives the painting a modern feel. It also doesn’t require framing, and is ready to hang. Signed and dated on the back of the painting. (I painted this in March when it had been a year since the pandemic started, and it felt like a hopeful but also sad time, remembering what a year it had been.)
